Northrop Grumman is seeking an Associate Engineer Structural / Engineer Structural. 

This position will be located at our Aeronautics Systems Sector in San Diego, California.

The qualified candidate will become part of Northrop Grumman’s Vehicle Engineering group.

The selected candidate will be expected to analyze, research, and develop structural engineering specifications involving metals, non-metallic or composite structural materials for product design, or operation of product to include structures, mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and electronics, power plant, armament, heating and ventilating, equipment, and maintenance designs.  Other duties include:  

Specific structural engineering specialties that may include dynamics and loads, stability and stress fatigue and thermal analysis.

Tools utilized may include CATIA, IDEAS, ProEngineer and a variety of software applications.

This requisition may be filled at either an Associate Engineer Structural (T01) or Engineer Structural (T02).

Basic Qualifications for an Associate Engineer Structural (T01)

A candidate, regardless of age and hiring source, must meet ALL of the below criteria. The candidate must:

Be completing or has completed their Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution

Be majoring in or having majored in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) degree.

Be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite) (as well as Program Special access within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite). Clearance and Program Access Required for Start as determined by the company to meet its business needs.

Basic Qualifications for an Engineer Structural (T02)

A candidate, regardless of age and hiring source, must meet ALL of the below criteria. The candidate must:

Be completing or has completed their Master’s degree from an accredited institution or is completing their Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution and 2 years of Electrical engineering experience

Be majoring in or having majored in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) degree

Have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0 or higher (unofficial academic transcripts must be provided at time of application by uploading the documents to your application or profile)

Be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite) (as well as Program Special access within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite). Clearance and Program Access Required for Start as determined by the company to meet its business needs.

Preferred Qualifications for both an Associate Engineer Structural and Engineer Structural:

Have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.25/4.0 or higher

Previous internship/co-op or other work experience, leadership & teamwork capabilities, interpersonal communication skills, and activities (professional/community/extracurricular). 

Pay Range

Associate Engineer Electronics: $ 70,200.00 - $105,400.00

Engineer Electronics: $85,000.00 – $127,400.00

Salary Range: $70,200 USD - $105,400 USD

Salary Range 2: $85,000 USD - $127,400 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
