FACILITIES MANAGER

SpaceX is committed to developing revolutionary space technology, with the ultimate goal of enabling people to live on other planets. We are looking for a talented Facilities Manager to oversee the operation and maintenance of our Austin facility. This position is directly responsible for ensuring that our facility systems are in top-notch condition, keeping maintenance costs low, vendors efficient, and enhancing our image to customers, visitors, and VIPs. Our facility care is a direct reflection of our values and the impact is immense.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead a team responsible for all facilities operations (building operations. janitorial, landscaping, and general maintenance) at the SpaceX Starlink facility to ensure continual services to the employees and customers
  • Responsible for HVAC systems, fluid plumbing systems, fire suppression systems, and electrical systems
  • Manage work ticketing system to ensure correct staff and timely responses to break/fix requests
  • Manage third-party service providers to ensure services are meeting corporate standards and terms of contract
  • Partner with our construction team to develop, plan and execute site improvement projects in accordance with overall business objectives and strategy
  • Administer an effective and efficient periodic maintenance and break/fix program for the site
  • Develop and implement on-call after hours support for any facility related troubleshooting or emergency repairs

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in an engineering, business, or supply chain discipline
  • 5+ years of professional experience with facilities engineering or project management

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications such as Excel, Outlook, Word and PowerPoint
  • Experience managing budgets
  • Experience managing third-party vendors
  • Experience negotiating contracts and comparing service costs to achieve maximum value
  • Experience with asset management software
  • Knowledge of building management and automated facilities monitoring systems and processes, such as: HVAC systems, fluid plumbing systems, fire suppression systems, generators, or fuel storage systems
  • High attention to detail and cleanliness standards
  • Ability to work independently with little direction
  • Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment
  • Ability to anticipate needs and develop innovative solutions for continuous improvement

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be able to work extended hours and/or weekends as needed
  • Provide 24/7 on-call support of all critical activities and emergency situations

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:                        

Pay range:           

Facilities Manager: $130,000.00 - $180,000.00/per year

Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.

Base salary is just one part of your total rewards package at SpaceX.   • To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) you must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
