Job Description
Position Summary/Purpose of Position:Reporting to the Executive Director, Environmental Safety, Sustainability, & Risk (ESSR), the Project Manager will fulfill a key role in coordinating the elements of an efficient, effective University-wide Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) program. The Project Manager will work with designated risk owners and cross-functional groups consisting of faculty, staff and students at various levels of the institution to develop and implement a continuously evolving risk assessment process to address and mitigate internal and external risks that may harm, prevent, delay, or enhance the University’s ability to achieve its objectives. The position will work with the Division of Administration, ESSR and key stakeholders throughout the University to communicate, coordinate, schedule, and plan for a campus-wide ERM program.
Minimum Qualifications:

Education (include licenses, certification, etc.): 

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university.


Experience: 

  • Minimum of 5 years of professional level work experience in project management.
  • Experience leading and directing large scale business and operational projects or programs.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with diverse audiences at every level of the university.
  • Be capable of managing and supervising the effective planning, prioritization, delegation and oversight of the ERM program.
  • Ability to handle sensitive & confidential information, data, conversations, and communications.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-based environment.
  • Ability to manage conflict.
  • Ability to initiate the development of an ERM scoring tool that will be used to assess and score risks and mitigation measures.
  • Applies advanced expert level knowledge, concepts, principles, and skills.
  • Substantial latitude in decision making.
Preferences:

Preferences

  • Bachelor’s degree in risk management, higher education leadership, public sector leadership, public administration, finance, information technology or related field from an accredited college/university.
  • Masters Degree in related discipline from an accredited college/university.
  • Strong analytical abilities and project management skills.
  • Experience in Enterprise Risk Management process development.
  • Experience working in a University setting.
  • Project Management Professional certification (PMP) and/or Risk Management Professional (RMP) certification.
  • Experience with the preparation of educational and promotional materials and web page creation.
