Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems sector is seeking a passionate Staff Database and Software Architect to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position is hybrid unclassified work in support of the Program Data Analytics System (PDAS) team, located in Melbourne, FL. Our mission is to provide advanced automated analytic solutions to the business. Our goal is to turn data into insights and pain points into automation.

You would be working in a variety of settings to build systems that collect, manage, and convert raw data into usable information for data scientists and business analysts to interpret. The goal is to make data accessible so that organizations can use it to evaluate and optimize their performance. You will design, build, and oversee the deployment and operation of technology architecture, create solutions and software to capture, manage, store and utilize structured and unstructured data from internal and external sources. The candidate will establish and build processes and structures based on business and technical requirements to channel data from multiple inputs, route appropriately and store using any combination of distributed (cloud) structures, local databases, and other applicable storage forms as required.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Designs, models, documents, and guides the logical and conceptual relationship of data and database changes for complex applications. Analyzes needs and requirements of existing and proposed systems, and develops technical, structural, and organizational specifications.

• Create standards and develops modeling to monitor and enhance capacity and performance across multiple DB platforms and environments to include interaction with multiple databases.

• Ensure architecture supports future enhancements and system integration activities.

• Management of multiple disparate database environments, including managing data models, tables and schemas to store data across multiple applications environments

• Develop and maintain complex scripts/programs to support data computation, data loading, and data integration, to include future data integration activities

• Perform database management functions including resolving performance issues, making schema changes required for new functionality, and installing new releases and patches

•Create process documentation

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field with a minimum of 14 year of experience OR 12 years of experience with a Master's Degree in a STEM related field OR 9 years of experience with a PH.D in a STEM related field

• Experience in ETL tools including creating and maintaining SSIS (SQL Server Integration Services) and SQL Server Business Intelligence Development Studio (BIDS)

• Experience with data modeling tools designing and data models, schema and tables

• Experience with AWS and skillsets in web development

• Experience troubleshooting ETL packages to determine root cause of job failure and correcting issues in a timely manner

• Experience working in Agile development methodologies

• The ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance

• The ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master's Degree in a STEM related field and 12 years of experience OR 9 years of experience with a PH.D in a STEM related field

• Active Secret Clearance

• Experience in Tableau creating dashboards at different levels of the business

• Experience using Redgate SQL Compare

• Experience using Azure DevOps

• Expertise with PLM and data interoperability standards such as PLM XML, eQube MI integrations/extractions, eQube BI reporting

• Experience with PLM applications and terminology, specifically supporting Aerospace customers

• Thorough understanding of Aerospace effectivity management principles

Salary Range: $139,000 USD - $208,600 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
