Northrop Grumman is seeking an Associate Software Quality Engineer. This position will be located at our Defense Systems Sector in Walpole, MA, supporting our Global Sustainment and Modernization Division on the Data Modeling and Analytics team.

Role/Responsibilities:

  • Performing thorough data analysis; may include building spreadsheets, creating graphs/visuals, investigating questions that arise from data anomaly checks or model results,
  • Designing and executing test processes and procedures to ensure that modeling projects faithfully reflect documented equations and objectives,
  • Developing and maintaining automated test scripts to reduce repetitive manual testing,
  • Writing and verifying unit tests,
  • Identifying and tracking defects to ensure quality of final product,
  • Setting expectations at the start of projects and providing updates as the project develops,
  • Working closely with mathematical modelers to resolve defects.

Basic Qualifications: 

A candidate must meet ALL of the below criteria. The candidate must:

  • Be completing or has completed their degree Bachelor’s from an accredited institution by June 2023
  • Be majoring in or having majored in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics,  Systems Engineering, or closely related discipline
  • Have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0 or higher (unofficial academic transcripts must be provided at time of application by uploading the documents to your application or profile).
  • Be able to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite)


Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.70/4.0 or higher
  • Experience or coursework in Python, Java, C#, AGILE Methodology
  • Experience or coursework in developing and executing automated tests
  • Familiarity in LISP, JIRA/Atlassian Tools, git

Salary Range

Level 1: $63,800 - $95,800

Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
