Job Description
Position Summary/Purpose of Position:The Community Engagement Project Coordinator works closely with the Director for the Office of Community Engagement to increase service learning & engagement programs/partnerships, advocacy efforts, and liaise with the division’s Business and Financial Services team for guidance with departmental budget and forecast. The office receives a high volume of requests to get connected and involved with the community, on and off campus. The incumbent is frequently troubleshooting and triaging the various requests received via OCE communication channels promoted on/off campus. Due to the nature of the work in community engagement efforts, this position frequently has evening and weekend obligations.
Minimum Qualifications:

Education (include licenses, certification, etc.):
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university. An equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be substituted, as long as it directly relates to the essential duties and responsibilities.

Experience:

  • Two-four years of directly-related experience working with community engagement efforts. Preference will be given to candidates with a working knowledge of community organizing and volunteer management.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects of varying scale, meet deadlines and work independently.

  • S/He must be a self-starter who will embrace hard work, exhibit a can-do-attitude and thrive in an evolving work environment.
  • The candidate must feel comfortable interacting with a wide range of civic, community, businesses and non-profit organizations.
  • Demonstrate a passion for community-based initiatives.
  • Display ability to effectively communicate information and ideas in written and verbal format Display experience with administrative and team collaboration tools such as Slack, Google Chat, and/or Google Drive.
  • Have experience with workflow tools such as SmartSheet, LucidChart, or Trello.

Physical Demands
  • This position may require lifting and moving of boxes, tables, chairs, etc. for the set up and break down of booths and displays at community events.
  • Must be willing to work flexible hours, with frequent evenings, and weekend obligations.
