The TikTok content design team designs the words on the product interface to help people navigate the product. These words explain, educate, motivate, set expectations, show care and concern, provide feedback, and help people feel comfortable using the product. We're looking for a user experience (UX) content design manager who can mentor, grow, and lead a team through UX, design thinking, well-defined content strategy, and advocacy for the content design discipline. Through clear, expressive writing, content designers build products that captivate and engage our viewers and content creators, and transform product features and concepts so that they're intuitive and easy to understand. The content design manager helps their team deliver high-visibility, high-impact projects across multiple product verticals. As a mentor and coach for their team, you'll recruit talented people, onboard new employees to allow them to ramp up quickly, find ways to help individuals develop their strengths, identify opportunities for them to grow within the company, and deliver regular performance feedback to encourage their team to grow. You'll actively build relationships with stakeholders, including the TikTok Product Management, Design, Marketing, User Research, Engineering, and Localization teams, and promote content design within TikTok and ByteDance. To improve cross-functional processes, you'll develop efficient processes, templates, and resources to help the team work smarter, faster, and more effectively. This role will be based in Singapore and will manage a small team of 3-5 based in China. Responsibilities - Identify opportunities and share feedback on development, improvement, and growth for reports - Work with team lead to build team culture, encourage collaboration, and develop skills - Drive for completion of high-quality work in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment - Facilitate projects, allocate resources, drive consensus and smoothen collaboration with stakeholders across time zones - Help manage and ensure UI text meets content standards, and be a champion for best practices - Align with writing teams across time zones to drive a cohesive product narrative - Write, proofread, and edit UI text both for your own and reports' projects - Provide actionable feedback for your team to drive consistency and improve content quality - Define efficient, practical solutions and processes for large-scale problems - Refer, recruit, and onboard new team members


Minimum qualifications: - 5+ years experience in content design, UX writing, content strategy, copywriting, UX, or equivalent fields - 1+ years experience in managing, mentoring, coaching, and developing a team - Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English - Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Communications, Technical Writing, UX, HCI, or equivalent practical experience - Writing portfolio including, but not limited to: user interface copy, microcopy, user education, direct or transactional emails, style guides or product launch content - Experience using Sketch, Figma, and Asana - Self-starter who can manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment and stay focused when faced with changing requirements - Experience collaborating with Product Management, Design, User Research, Engineering, and Localization teams - Effectiveness in working across organizations to define, manage, and prioritize work Preferred qualifications: - Experience working on a global product with international partners in different time zones - Strong interest in social app products, user and influencer behavior, and associated trends TikTok is committed to creating an inclusive space where employees are valued for their skills, experiences, and unique perspectives.
