Northrop Grumman, Space Systems, is currently seeking an Associate Process Engineer to support our Process Engineering team at our Promontory Utah, Clearfield Utah, and/or our Bacchus (Magna) Utah facilities.
The selected candidate will support the Ammonium Perchlorate (AP), Case, Case Prep, Mix/Cast, Motor Assembly, Nozzle, or Rocket Value Streams.
Role Description & Responsibilities:
Developing and improving manufacturing processes
Performing cause and corrective action activities to permanently eliminate defects
Working with concurrent engineering team to create Build-to-Packages (i.e. engineering and planning documents)
Authoring, updating and reviewing shop floor planning
Preparing and presenting technical presentations to VSET, leadership, and to the customers for review and approval
Performing table top reviews
Using SPC tools to ensure process control
Developing and incorporating process improvements
Troubleshooting production/tooling/facility issues and implementing improvements and solutions
Supporting design, checkout, qualification and implementation of new or modified tooling or equipment

Supporting design, checkout, qualification and implementation of new or modified tooling or equipment
Experience Requirements:
Candidate with 0-2 years of engineering experience (intern engineering experience preferred).
Education/Certifications
B.S. degree in Chemical, Mechanical Engineering, or Manufacturing Engineering (other technical degrees may be considered)
Skills & Qualifications
Self-Starter that takes initiative to complete tasks and assignments with minimal supervision
Good problem-solving skills and strong oral and written communication skills
Good organization and multi-tasking skills
Experience in Lean Manufacturing Techniques
Basic Computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Interpreting blue prints and specifications
Strong inter-personal and Customer Service Skills
Process Controls (SPC)
Experience writing shop planning (preferred)
Experience working with energetic materials and processes. (preferred)
Salary Range: $60,600 USD - $91,000 USD
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
